New to the Willespie range…the first bottling of this style,
a subtle blend of choice cabernet franc (60%) and cabernet sauvignon
(40%). A delicious, softer style, which has been filled out by the
use of oak. This is a great wine with all food...a cheese board
and Cabernets is a very pleasurable experience... but the wine also
fantastic on its own. The Cabernets is ready for early drinking
however will cellar for a few years.
This is a blend of mostly 1998 wine with some 1997 cabernet franc,
picking dates 18/3/98 and 17/3/97. Varying amounts of oak (some
new) were used and the smaller portion of 1997 cabernet franc spent
twenty-seven months in oak, while the 1998 cabernet franc and cabernet
sauvignon were allowed 18 months.
